Prague Airport, a.s. operates the largest international airport in the Czech Republic and is a key component of the country’s transportation infrastructure. To ensure smooth and safe operations, the airport utilizes a range of critical information systems that process operational data in real time.
Client’s Challenge
Prague Airport faces growing demands on its operational systems due to the continuous increase in air traffic, rising requirements for performance, data availability, and security, as well as pressure to comply with European regulatory standards, including Eurocontrol requirements.
Key challenges include:
- a significant increase in the volume of operational data and system load
- the technical debt of the existing solution
- the need to respond to new regulatory and security requirements
- expanding functionality and services while maintaining operational stability
- high demands on the availability of the critical system with minimal downtime
The goal is to ensure the modernization and further development of the central operations system so that it supports airport operations in the long term and is prepared for its continued growth.
Project Description
Following a competitive bidding process, Prague Airport entered into a contract with our company, Principal, for the provision of maintenance services and framework modifications to the CAODB (Central Airport Operational Database) system and related integration interfaces.
The project focuses on:
- maintenance support and development of a key operational system
- implementation of new functional requirements
- preparing the system for future regulatory and operational demands
- gradual modernization of technologies
